Hello and Happy Wednesday!!
This week we are creating a card to celebrate all of our LGBTQIA+ friends in this Pride month. You are loved, respected, and always welcome here!
This card can be customized to include any colors, any flag, for anybody!

I am SO excited to make this card!
I love how this tiny mouse is holding such a big flag! Just like how one person can hold So Much love!
Very first, let’s take the card base and line up some heart dies. These will be like little windows into the colorful inside of the card!
It’s very useful to take some washi tape to keep those tiny hearts in place. They’ll want to slip around if you don’t secure them!
Save those cut out heart for later!
The sentiment we’ll be stamping is “You are Loved” in big bright rainbow colors!
This is a custom-built Kaleidacolor pigment pad, and we have an assortment of dye-based ink Kaleidacolor ink pads here in store!
I LOVE this border die-cut we’ll be using for the bottom of the card’s face.
I’ve decided to make this version of the card in Transgender Flag colors, to represent me, Jae!
This flag goes blue-pink-white-pink-blue!
We love and respect people of all genders here at Art and Happiness. Trans people, especially trans people of color, deserve all of the joy!
Now, let’s start by stamping and fussy-cutting this mouse friend.
Don’t worry about cutting around their tail, we’ll just draw it in later!
We chose a grey for this mouse but if you’d like them to be another color, that’s just as fine!
It’s time to cut out a flag-shaped paper, you can make it flat or wavy- whichever you’d like!
I’ll be coloring mine in Trans Flag colors to match, you of course can create any flag you’d like!
If you aren’t a member of the LGBT+ community, or don’t have a loved one celebrating themselves this month- that’s okay! Consider your own identity, sense of self, and community!
What’s something that means a lot to you? Create a flag that inspires you to be proud of who you are!
Let’s create our scene!!
The little mouse is sitting on the floor, holding a flag they are so proud to wave!
They are loved and seen as their true self- how beautiful!!
And for the very last step- let’s make something fun to see through the heart-windows!!
I wanted each heart to be one of the colors represented in the Trans Flag so I laid out the paper strips like little banners!! You can be as creative as you’d like on this step! Whatever you create will be perfect.
Remember the little hearts we cut out and saved? Use them here as embellishments!
There are so many different ways to label yourself and to find community in a term that others relate to as well. I’m so proud of you for getting to know yourself better, exploring your identity, and finding people who love you for you!!
Even if you don’t identify as LGBTQIA+ or any term under the queer umbrella, you can be an Ally for those who are different than you. The most important thing is to respect others and show them compassion!
