Suede Paper Book Make-and-Take

Hello friends and welcome to another weeks Demo!!

This week we are making a Mini-Book out of Suede paper!

Suede paper is So fun to work with!! It has a fuzzy, fabric feel perfect for bookbinding and crafting!! It can also be stamped, painted, and written on!!

Today we’ll be using suede paper to make the cover of this adorable mini-book!

We have all of the little bits and pieces pre-cut and scored for you here at the shop!

We’ll score it together here in case you’re doing this at home!

Start with a 11”x12” paper! On the 12” side let’s score 2” in on either side and then in the center at 6”. Flip it on over to the 11” side and score in half at 5.5” and That in half at 2.75”.

We’ll cut down the center, leaving one of the quarters uncut! This will be our center fold.

There’s this lovely flat spot within the centerfold- perfect for a mini notepad!

We’ll cut it to be just shy of the inside length of the book- folding it in half so it will fit neatly.

A bit of glue within the seam of each folded paper will let the nested notepad stay intact! Closing and realigning the pages each time you add another will let them stay nice and neat!

Now it’s time to snag our suede paper! We have pre-cut pieces of many colors for this project

We’ll take 4 pieces of the same inner paper. Cut it 1/8” short on all sides and align it centered on each side!

Grab this little curved rectangle diecut for a ‘window’ and run it through the die-machine.

Let’s take a bit of acetate and cover this cutout! Take another piece of inner paper and cover the window we just made- leaving the edge open so we can slide in an image!
