Sealing Wax!
Have you always wanted to learn about Sealing Wax? I LOVE the look of a wax seal.. it’s not only FUN to do but it also makes whatever I am sealing look SO FANCY!!
Today, I am going to show you HOW to do a wax seal and I am going to show you how you can do Sealing Wax on other things besides envelopes!!
Check out my Video Tutorial here:
The best (in my personal opinion) and easiest way to do sealing wax to get the PERFECT CIRCLE is with the Low-Temperature Hot Glue Gun. It takes the large sealing wax sticks PERFECTLY and comes out nice and hot so you get a perfect wax seal EVERY TIME!!!
A GREAT gift idea is a wax seal with a little stick or 2 of sealing wax!! However, if you have RECEIVED this as a gift… you may not know HOW to use it!!
Check it out:
Glue the flap of the envelope down at the tip of the flap
Cut the wick of the wax stick VERY SHORT
Light it with a lighter, NOT a match
Drip the wax onto the point of the envelope, the wax stick should STILL be on fire, about 1/4”- 1/2” above the envelope. DON’T CATCH ANYTHING ON FIRE!!!
Once you are satisfied with the amount of wax, put the tip of the wick INTO the hot wax (this will put out the flame) and swirl the wick around in the wax so all the wax is in a nice circle shape.
Press your seal firmly into the hot wax. Release after about 15 seconds.
I also LOVED the idea of doing a wax seal on other things.. like the ACTUAL card you give to someone!! I love to do this with a little bit of twine at the bottom of my card and then have the wax seal ON the knot and it gives a nice finishing touch!!!
You can melt sealing wax to the TWINE ONLY and it can act as a belly-band for hold a card closed!!
Or you can use a metallic paper band and add a wax seal to that for a belly-band for your invitation!!
I LOVE the look of an old-timey scroll!! By applying sealing wax to the RIBBON ONLY you can make a fun, magical scroll in just minutes!!!
There is an ENTIRE MAGICAL WORLD of sealing wax waiting for you!! If you would like to order some, let me know!! I carry SEVERAL different amazing designs :-)
