Hello and welcome to this weeks Demo!!
Let’s create some Magical, Giant Paper Flowers today!! We’ll be using tissue paper, colorful textweight paper, a dowel, and hot glue to create these Gigantic, Gorgeous Flowers!
Come on down and create this craft with us- this station will be up ALL WEEK!
Watch our video here:
It’s SO fun to create paper flowers- you get to take one of the most beautiful things on this planet and recreate it to be yours!
We have Red, Orange, and Yellow papers here for your flowers- but who’s to say you can’t create a multi-colorful flower?? Create to your hearts delight!
We’ll start by taking a dowel, or paintbrush or chopstick (use what you have!), and wrapping it with green ribbon to create the stem!
You’ll want to use hot glue to secure the ribbon- we Love hot glue here!
While we are using this duo-tone ribbon, you’ll only be seeing one side for now! We’ll use it again later for that double color!
We’ll also take a bit of green paper to create leaves! Folding them along the center and embellishing them with a green pen to create the veins!
Now that our stem is covered- let’s cut out some flower petals!
You’ll need about 2 sheets of tissue paper- folded into fourths. And 6 sheets of text weight paper, folded in half!
We can cut the tissue paper petals into the same size and shape!
The text weight paper will require a bit more attention- sections of 3 will be cut in short, medium, and tall petals!
Cut little notches out of these and curl their edges over your dowel to create movement!
Now let’s glue our tissue paper center petals!
You’ll want these layers to create the little center bud of our blooming flower, letting each petal curl around each other.
After the center is full, start placing the shortest petals around the center. Unfurl the petals as you layer to create that ‘Full Bloom’ look!
As you create more layers, grab longer petals! This will help the flower look like it’s opening up!!
Wow!! This is already looking So Magical!
Let’s fill it out one more layer of the tissue paper petals!! A touch of hot glue will help the petals stay upright on the flower itself. Be careful to not use too much as hot glue shows easily through tissue paper!
Now we can return to that dual-color ribbon! We’ll cut little triangles out to create the greenery under our flower! We can also take our left over green paper from the leaves and create more green tips!
You can also flick some splatters of Mica shimmer on to your flower as well!
Now you have your very own Giant Paper Flower!!
Did you love this craft?? You can create As Many Flowers as you need!! We always have a variety of tissue papers, text weight, and decorative paper that you can use to create your Garden of paper flowers!!
I think next time I create a Giant Paper Flower, I want to add a little bee buzzing around it!
Your imagination knows no end, so let’s have fun creating together again!!
Thank you for being inspired and creating with us today!!
Hope to see you soon!!
