Look-Through-the Window-Cards!!
Have you always wanted to create a card that you can SEE THROUGH to see the inside of a card? You may be thinking of a Window Card!!
Check out the Video Tutorial below:
When you are making a Window Card, you will need to have a cut-out in the front of the card as well as a piece of Acetate, and a backing piece that also has a cut-out in it.
Check out this idea with the Fairy die-cut!!
I started out with a card base, and a backing piece that fits on the backside of the front of the card.
I used a tiny piece of double-sided tape to hold the backing piece in place on the backside of the card front.
Next, I used a die-cut machine to cut out a hole in the front of the card. I always line up the “fold” part of the card with the edges of the cutting plate to keep from putting extra creases in the paper
Once the hole is cut out, I pulled away the front of the card from the backing piece so I had 2 pieces that both have a hole in them
I used this Fairy die-cut that I love SO MUCH (Bluebell Fairy Edger) and cut it out of light green card stock
I laid the fairy die cut on the backside of the card front lining it up with the circle underneath so it covers the circle on the right side. I trimmed the Fairy die-cut so it fit the card base on the top and bottom
Then I placed a piece of Acetate down and adhered it with double-sided tape.
Then I put double-sided tape on the backing piece and adhered it to the Acetate so that the circle cut-outs lined up
When I turned over the front of the card, I lifted the Fairy Wing off the paper and when you open up the card you can SEE THROUGH THE WINDOW!!!
For even more added fun, I used Alcohol Inks to colorize the Acetate!!!
Check out how fun this card is!! I LOVE how it turned out!!!!
Check out this similar idea with these Snowflake die cuts!!
I love the idea of a little bit of patterned paper behind the window as you peek in!
I love this idea where the Mermaid die cuts are sandwiched between 2 pieces of Acetate. I also cut out the mermaids from 2 different papers so you get a different look when you open the card!
I love the look of Through-the-window-cards!!
