Colorburst (Powdered Watercolor) Ideas
Hello friends!! Today I wanted share ideas for using your Powdered Watercolors!! You may know them as “Colorburst, Color Sparks, or Brusho”

I LOVE using colorburst!! Colorburst is a powdered watercolor that BURSTS out with color as soon as you spritz on water!
I love the effect that the powdered watercolor creates!! I also love that the effect happens organically.. which means you can’t really control how the inks move.. which I actually LOVE!!!
Did you know that you can WATERCOLOR with your Colorburst?!
You can use a small amount of Colorburst with your Waterbrush to create VIBRANT watercolors for creating art! I always like to make swipes of color to create a RAINBOW palette to see how beautiful the colors are!
I added in the “splatter” with leftover ink that was left in my palette.
You can also use a craft mat to create a beautiful Colorbust creation and then take a piece of white paper and “lift” the ink off the craft mat.. this process is called a Monoprint
You can create an EVEN MORE AMAZING design by doing your Colorburst Monoprint onto a paper called Kromekote. The paper is GLOSSY on one side and it is AMAZING how you can see all the details and swirls!!
I wanted to play with some stencils and Colorburst.. check out this idea where I picked up some of the wet Colorburst ink with a small sponge and pressed it onto my Mushroom Stencil. I love the effect!! The trick for using sponges with a watercolor is you need to press out as much moisture as possible so the ink doesn’t leak under the stencil.
To finish off the card, I added some lines at the bottom with my waterbrush and some splatters to make the background not look so stark-white.
Check this out… I did the Monoprint onto Kromekote paper, then I finished it off with some stenciling of my little fairies using the sponge and Indigo-colored Color burst!! I LOVE this effect!! The fairies and the whimsical background go perfectly together!!
