Bokah Creations
Hello friends and welcome to this week’s Demo!! This week I wanted to share ideas with you for creating the “Bokah” effect. Check out the Video Tutorial here:
I don’t know about you but when someone says “Bokah” I don’t always know WHAT they are talking about!! I have this patterned paper in stock that is DEFINITELY BOKAH and I wanted to show you a sample of it:
Now that you know what Bokah IS, I want to show you some fun ideas for creating that effect in your own crations!!
Here, I punched holes out of this piece of cardstock. Then I used the Blending Brushes to apply a layer of ink through the stencil I created. I flipped the stencil over and applied a different color of ink. Finally, I flipped the stencil upside-down and applied a final 3rd color of ink.
The effect is pretty fun!!
Check out this next idea using the 3 sizes of hole punches to create movement with the shapes!!
You can use the reverse piece from the hole-punches as a STENCIL!
Check out this idea using 2 different colors of Distress Ink and the Blending Brushes!
For this next idea, I took the patterned Bokah paper and used my Blending Brushes to make the entire paper PURPLE. Then, I used the same stencil from above to create movement where the butterflies are!!
For this next idea, I wanted to make the patterned Bokah paper more like “Bubbles” !!
To do this, I applied a soft layer of the Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and then used the Blending Sponges to apply polka dots and the stencil from above to create a little bubble groupings!!
I used this stamp set from Lawn Fawn, Bubbles of Joy, to bring the card together. I am SO HAPPY with how this turned out!!
There are SO MANY WAYS to create the Bokah effect!! I hope you are inspired to create your own!!
