Abstract Art Ideas

How do you feel about creating an Abstract Art piece?! Do you know what that might entail? Abstract Art leaves the interpretation up the viewer! You can create a piece of art that can be meaningful in a variety of different ways! Check out the Video Demo below:

Whenever I am creating a piece of Abstract Art, I always try to stick with a color palette and a theme!!!

Check out this fun idea!!

I used:

  • Light Green Suede Paper

  • Green Mesh Ribbon

  • Green Watercolor

  • Handmade “onion skin” Paper

I doodled a quick leaf for my Abstract Art focal point. Then I added in some fun green mesh ribbon to draw my eye to the leaf sprig. I cut out little circles from the suede paper (right) and then glued those circles down (left).

I saturated my Waterbrush with Green Watercolor and dabbed it onto sections of the suede paper. I LOVE how the color bled out a little bit into the porous suede paper and made an organic effect that i am LOVING!!

I am SO PLEASED with how this art piece came together!!

For this next idea, I used:

  • Karin Brushmarkers

  • Waterbrush

  • Watercolors

  • Black Glaze Pen

I started out by watercoloring some circles on a piece of parchment card stock. Then, I went over the circles with color brushmarkers and added in some scribble lines to create movement on the page. I finally went back in with my black glaze pen to add in little doodles and smaller lines to create some fun designs and emphasize the circles I had originally watercolored!!

I love how this piece of Abstract Art leaves the interpretation up to the viewer!! What does this represent to you?

For my next creation, I wanted to create something soft and delicate. I used:

  • Purple Karin Brushmarker Pr

  • Waterbrush

  • Delicate Handmade Paper

  • Sheer Textured Ribbon

I love this concept of watering-down the brushmarker to get all these soft pink tones! I watercolored these little dots in the corners to create similar movement that the delicate handmade paper had!!

I love how soft and sweet this abstract art piece turned out!!

I loved this next idea of creating an Abstract Art piece I wanted to create something that was in the red tones!! I used:

  • Heart Doodles cut-out

  • Red Handmade Paper

  • Red Twine

  • Red Ribbons

  • Red Brushmarker Pro

  • Black Tombow Marker

I love, LOVE this idea of using multiple ribbons and textures to create a fun piece of Abstract Art in reds!!

I had SO MUCH FUN creating this creation!! I replicated the twine movement by creating stripes with my marker for the strip on the right! I also cut it into a sweet “chevron” in the middle to replicate the same movement as the point on the hearts!!

I LOVE how this one turned out!!

Thanks for joining me for the Abstract Art Demo this week!! I hope you are inspired to create your very own Abstract Art Piece!!

See you soon, wonderful friends!!
