The Amazing World of Washi Tape!!
Hello Friends!! Welcome to the Washi Tape Demo Blog!! This week I wanted to share ideas with you for using WASHI TAPE!!! Even WIDE Washi Tape!! Check out the Video Tutorial below:
You can do SO MUCH with Washi Tape!! Here’s and idea using Washi Tape as a TOOL!
When you go to watercolor on a sheet of paper you can tape off the sides and then a space in the middle of the paper to add in a fun sentiment!!
I used watercolors and my Waterbrush to add in a sweet Happy Birthday sentiment!!
I love how fun and Rainbow-y this is!!
You can even use WIDE WASHI TAPE to create a quick fun background!!
Here, I laid the Wide Washi Tape on a piece of cardstock then RAN IT THROUGH my home die cut machine using an Embossing folder to create an AMAZING texture!
Along those same lines, once you’ve embossed the Washi-Tape paper with the Embossing Folder you can THEN press ink across the entire service and HEAT EMBOSS the image as well!!! This glittery Embossing Powder I am using is called “Blue Magic” and it is seriously SO MAGICAL!!
Here, I did the EXACT same thing as I did above but this time with WHITE embossing powder!! I LOVE this effect!! It looks just slightly vintage!!
In this sample, I put Washi Tape across an entire sheet of cardstock (And then I did the same thing with this glittery Silver Washi Tape), die cut little stars out, and then INLAID the stars into the opposite Washi Tape!! How fun is this?!?
For this idea, I laid a stencil down on top of my Wide Washi Tape background. Then I used Distress Oxide Ink and a Blending Brush to apply a layer of ink. Since the ink won’t dry on the Washi Tape, I used Gold Embossing powder and heat-set the flourish image!! I LOVE how this looks!! such a fun idea!!
Isn’t this a fascinating effect?!?
Here, I laid down Wide Washi Tape, then die cut an image. I peeled away the DIE CUT image that was cut out of the Washi Tape and stuck it down on a piece of white card stock and used spray inks to colorize the paper. When I was done, I removed the Washi Tape mask and the deer appeared in the same color as the cardstock I did my spray inks on!
AND the reverse die cut piece I placed on top of a piece of Copper Mirri Card to create an even cool effect!
I hope you guys had fun learning about the amazing world of Washi Tape!! There are SO MANY amazing ways to use Washi Tape to take your creations to the next level!!
Hope you enjoyed the Washi Tape Demo!!
See you soon friends!!
