Scrolls and Sealing Wax
Hello Friends!! Today, we are going to talk about Scrolls and Sealing Wax!!
There is SO MUCH to love when it comes to scrolls and sealing wax, check out the full Demo Video below:
Traditional Wax Seal:
You will need:
Wax Stick with a wick
Lighter (NOT a match)
Ice Pack
Start out by trimming your wick VERY short. Light the wick with a lighter, and then drip the wax onto the envelope. While you are melting your wax, rest your Wax Seal Stamp on an Ice Pack so the seal is VERY cold.
Drip the wax on the envelope. Then to put the flame out, PLOP THE FLAME INTO THE WAX and that will put out the flame. DO NOT blow out the flame or it will create soot in your wax.
Press the cold Wax Seal Stamp into the melted wax FIRMLY and it will release leaving a nice, crisp impression!!
The other way to melt Sealing Wax ( and this is my FAVORITE WAY) is by using a Low Temperature Hot Glue Gun. Yes, this IS SEALING WAX!! It’s just cylindrical shape so it fits perfectly into the Low Temperature Hot Glue Gun.
You still need to rest your Wax Seal Stamp on an Ice Pack while you squirt out the Sealing Wax, but it makes it so you can make a perfect circle (if you want) and you can seal several invitations in a matter of a couple minutes.
If you are sealing Invitations to an event, THIS IS THE WAY TO GO!!
Along those same lines, you can even add a wax seal to a piece of ribbon to wrap up a fun elegant scroll!! I LOVE how elegant (and romantic!!) this look is!!
Check out this idea… you can squirt out your Wax, press on your Wax Seal Stamp, and then buff in a tiny amount of Black Acrylic Paint to make your seal look distressed and old!!
(of course, I added the feather to the melted wax for added fun!!)
You can add a touch of GOLD to your seal by pressing the Wax Seal Stamp into a Gold Ink Pad before impressing it into the hot wax! Look at this fun effect!!
When you use the Low Temp Hot Glue Gun and you switch out colors, you will get this AMAZING swirl effect when the 2 colors of wax meet!! I love this idea of making a fun focal point for this card by adding in some fun feathers and sprigs!!
You can also melt the Sealing Wax Melting Beads in a spoon over a candle! This melts the wax perfectly and allows you to have nice control over where the wax lands.
I love using this technique for packaging up a little present!! It just looks SO FUN!!!
Check out this idea… you can use 2 paper towel tubes and a large piece of paper to make a quick GIANT SCROLL!!
You can also make MINI SCROLLS and put them in vials and seal them with drippy Sealing Wax!!!
There are SO MANY ways to use scrolls and sealing wax to make your projects even more amazing !!
I hope you are inspired to create something WONDERFUL!!
