Welcome to another Make and Take craft full of miniature crafting FUN!!
This week we are creating a Miniature Fairy Hideout!!
We’ll build a little nook and decorate it with doors, shelves, and trinkets!
Let’s start by building our frame!
Taking a piece of chipboard, we’ll score it with 1” sides. The little corner squares will become tabs to fold over to make our box sturdy! Glue those inside to keep it standing up!
Now you can begin planning the doors, shelves, steps, and other elements to your hideout!
You can create any kind of door, shelf, nooks, and crannies!
To make a Door: Draw an arch shape! You can have a keyhole, doorknob, mini door inside the door, a looking glass, and anything else a door should have! Make sure to leave a little tab on the side so the door can open and close!
To make Stairs: Take a thin strip of the chipboard and fold it back and forth accordion-style! Leave little tabs at the top and bottom to glue it down! If you want a tall staircase, make tinier steps!
To make a Shelf: Use a thin strip of chipboard and hot glue to attach it where you’d like! You could bend the board to create a cubby, have shelves of different sizes, or have one big shelf!
Now that you have all of your structures built- it’s time to Decorate!!!
You can add potions, scrolls, books, little gem stones, colorful creatures, and anything that you love!!
I made sure to add some of my Favorite things like a little spider, fairy lights, bits of moss and flowers, and a magical looking orb!!
Everyone’s fairy hideout is unique! This friend created a hideout that has a giant sunflower, stairs with leafy guardrails, magical spellbooks, and sparkly fairylights!
