Masking Ideas with Heat Embossing
Remember last week when we learned about the AMAZING world of Heat Embossing?! (if you missed it, check out that blog here )
This week, we are using the same idea to do MAGIC REVEAL with heat embossing!!! Check out the video tutorial here:
Look at all these fun ideas!!
When doing Heat Embossing, you can start with a piece of white card stock and use White Embossing Powder. When you heat set it, the image is barely seen… UNTIL YOU REVEAL IT!!!
Check out this fun idea using the Lawn Fawn Simply Summer Sentiments as well as these 2 colors of Distress Ink, Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn.. .. I love how when I used the Picket Fence Blending Brushes with the ink the image is then REVEALED!!
This effect is referred to as “Masking”
I LOVE how bright WHITE the stamped image is!!
Along that same idea and concept, you can also use WATERCOLORS to reveal the image!!
Check out here where I not only watercolored the little Cacti Stamps but also the background so that the entire image was REVEALED!
Did you know you can even use Black Embossing powder on black card stock?!? There are even METALLIC WATERCOLORS that show up on Black Paper!!
Check out here with this fun card idea.. the middle is done using Gold Embossing Powder and the top and bottom are the “Masked” images that I REVEALED!!
One of my FAVORITE products is the Versamark Pen!!
Versamark pens make it possible for YOUR HAND WRITING to be embossed!!
Which means you can WRITE on a piece of white card stock, heat set it with White Embossing Powder, and then give kids markers to REVEAL the secret message!!!
Or, you can use the Picket Fence Blending Brushes and the Distress Oxide Inks to reveal your own writing on BLACK or WHITE card stock!!
Distress Oxide Inks are fascinating.. they show up on BLACK card stock or they show up, rather VIBRANTLY, on WHITE card stock!!
There is SO MUCH to learn when it comes to the AMAZING world of using Heat Embossing for Masking!!
