Faux Terarrium Craft

Hi friends and welcome to another Make-and-Take Craft!!

We are going to make a Faux Terrarium light catcher! With a bit of acetate, moss, and flowers we’ll make something Magical!

Follow along and watch the video here~

Within your kit you’ll find two sheets of traced acetate, a collection of moss, flowers, ferns, and a little butterfly! There is also some twine and a little note saying “You make me happy!”

You will need hot glue, white glue, and scissors.

Of course you can grab anything else you’d like to include in your terrarium, perhaps you have some dried flowers or a paper bug you want to add!

First step! Let’s trim the excess off of the traced cloche! Trim just outside the white line, it is where we will be gluing the two pieces together!

You can start arranging your moss and flowers now! Play around with it, see how many different ways you can display them!

Here are just four different ways to arrange your collection! There is an endless amount!

Perhaps you’ve found another little addition from your own collection to use, or maybe you decide you don’t want the included butterfly! Use a bit of white glue to pin down any elements to one another. This will help them to stay as you placed them once it’s all sealed up.

Whatever elements you decide to use, make sure to keep them within the outline of the terrarium! When we glue it together everything will need to be inside!

Okay! Have you decided on your favorite layout?

Let’s get gluing!

Use your hot glue to glue the edges down along the white line. Sometimes hot glue doesn’t want to bind to the plastic of the acetate, but pressing the two pieces together while the glue is still hot helps a lot!

Tie the string through the hole and attach the sentiment if you’d like! Of course, you can also include your own handwritten note, a favorite ribbon, or a charm!

There you have it! A beautifully displayed Faux Terrarium!

Hang this in your window to have its shadows dance on the wall, or hang it next to your plant collection for a wonderful decoration!

This would make a perfect present to a plant lover or collector of tiny cool things!

Thanks for creating with us today!!

We can’t wait to make another craft with you!

See you soon, my creative friends!
