Boxes Revisited!

Paper Boxes Revisited!

We have made Boxes before- here are some more ideas to create your very own Box! Let’s explore fun shapes, window-tops, Metallic embellishments, and more!

Check out the full video below:

For something Whimsical and a bit Elegant, let’s create a Black Shimmer Box!

After folding the Black Cardstock base into a box let’s grab some metallic watercolors! A semi-dry brush lets you put just a Shimmer to highlight the corners.

Nuvo Crystal Drops act like puff paint- letting you add swirls and dots on top of the watercolor!

A window box like this is perfect for handmade treats!

Carve leaf shapes in the original lid of your Box Base and color them in with your favorite pen! You could even cut out an oval shape and add flowers to this design!

A piece of Acetate replaces the original lid- letting you see Inside the Box!!

Here is the same idea of a window-lidded box- but a bit more simple!

Die cut a circle out of the lid before folding it into shape, attach your acetate and have fun blending colors!

The trick to this super fun texture? Once you’ve laid the ink down take a drippy waterbrush and Flick the water onto the ink! The colors will be displaced leaving you with this wonderful dappled print.

This shimmery, elegant box uses Heat Embossing and purposefully-messy metallic watercolors to create a silver and gold floral embellishment!

Remember the flicking technique above? Let’s use that same flick with a pigment-saturated brush! Instead of it displacing ink, it will add splatters of color!

Even the bottom of this handmade box has a fun splatter!

I hope these Four Simple Boxes have inspired you to create your own handmade box! Try combining some of these techniques to make your own unique creation!

Why not go the extra step in a handmade gift and create a special box to match? As with any of your art, only you can make something that’s uniquely yours!

Thanks for tuning in and enjoying the newest creations!

Happy Creating!
