Happy Summertime Wednesday!!
Today we’re making this Green Ombre Cactus card!! Join us at Art and Happiness to make a card with everything you’ll need- it will be featured until next Wednesday, June 8th!
Check out the video below:
This card was inspired by the new Summer heat and vibrant greenery!
Let’s get creative and make this together!
Very first, we’ll stamp the row of cacti on the bottom of the card’s front!
Let’s stamp those cacti one more time on a separate piece of paper!
We’ll fussy cut these out and use them as masks, protecting our Cactus Friends from the green ombre we are about to lay down.
Use a bit of washi tape under each to make sure they stay put!
Here, using the Kaleidacolor “Fresh Greens” ink pad, we’ll make an ombre over the front of the card!
Since we have masked off the row of cactus, they’ll stay safe while you completely cover the panel.
While the ink is still drying, and the cactus masks are still on, take a waterbrush and ‘flick’ droplets on to the ombre surface! The water will displace the ink- creating these beautiful splashes of color!
Now, die cut the “hello summer” and place in the center of the card!!
Now that’s all done- the only thing left is to color in your Cacti!
Using Tombow markers, color in various shades of green. Tombows are water-based and can be picked up with a waterbrush- so have fun making these as colorful as you’d like!
Taa-daaa your sub-lime summer cactus card is all done!
I love how refreshing the water splash looks! Those cute cacti look all ready for the hot days ahead!!
Thank you for creating this wonderful card with us!
Happy Summer, friends!
See you soon!!
