Card Class, August 23rd

Hello Friends!! Welcome to this week’s Card Class!!

THANK YOU for signing up!! I am SO GLAD you have been having fun making things with me!!

This week for Card Class, I wanted to make a Sunrise AND a Sunset!! And, well, the Mermaid Shadowbox I wanted to make just for FUN!! Check out how fun the cards are!!

Before we get started with the cards I want to show you how I cut and scored the Shadowbox Card Base:

(This is a great way to see how to make that base that will fit into an envelope when folded flat)

The first card was created using the Memory Box die-cuts Cattail Landscape and Rustic Tree Collage. I also used these Small Bird die-cuts from Impression Obsession that I LOVE to use!

I love the effect of this really bright Early Sunrise with the double circle at the bottom corner. The added Sticky Strips from Taylored Expressions really pull the entire thing together with the dimension!!

The second card was inspired by these AMAZING Mermaid Die-Cuts from Impression Obsession as well as this brand new die-cut from Hero Arts, Underwater Pillar Window die

I love the Deep Sea look and feel of this card!! The best part? It folds flat to fit into an A2 size envelope

The green square on the back is where you would write your message or stamp a sentiment if you so desired! :-)

The last card is this gorgeous Sunset Card!! It was inspired from this sweet Rosies Roseshow Sailboat wood mount stamp as well as this Rustic Tree Collage die-cut from Memory Box. Of course I just HAD to add in the Small Birds again!! (They fit in PERFECTLY!!)

I wanted to create the ombre-sunset effect without having to use inks… I really LOVE the bright colors of the sunset the paper-layering created!!

I really like this idea of using the same die cut ( the Rustic Tree Collage) as a way to peek through to create 2 different scenes.. I especially love the idea of the Sunrise AND the Sunset with 2 different concepts on layering
